Alpine Baldy. Massive tree and secondary tree fully removed to meet forest service standards.
Alpine Baldy. Small trees past the avalanche debris field, at beginning of climb. I did finishing touches to the early part of the trail for minor stuff, so you won't find branches on the trail as far as the red pushpin marker on the image with the GPS.

Alpine Baldy. Just past the avalanche debris field, there is a chunk of trail that is going to turn into a small landslide. I cut the trees at that location back further, I figure the trail is going in the creek, best to prepare for moving it, though even that location the ground is soft I think that's going to go as well. Afterwards I moved up the trail to clear a section of log debris that floated onto the trail and further trees up the trail.

Alpine Baldy. I worked a single location for two large trees down and blocking the trail. On top of the 7 cuts for each round, I had to do a few extra cuts as it initially fell so as to bind it from moving. Significant effort to roll the logs off the trail as they were large diameter and width.

Alpine Baldy. Pole saw. Cleared huge tangle of brush and debris just past the avalanche debris field. Cleared more trees for another quarter mile at beginning of the climb section.

Alpine Baldy. Pole saw work for many small to medium trees blocking the trail. Cleared as far as the avalanche debris field.

Alpine Baldy. Chainsaw work and Ethan did the tread work. The focus area was the two major washouts a half mile into the trail. Ethan routed the trail properly to original location through the washouts. I cleared enough rounds in the massive tree to allow bike to pass through.

Alpine Baldy. Trail work with Maarten. I was on the chainsaw and Maarten did the swamp work of clearing debris, branches, and logs not only for the work area but also items along the trail. The log I started on Sunday is now cut through so that it is resting on the ground and most of a second cut to remove enough log to allow a bike to go through.

Alpine Baldy. Removing downed trees in a washout that took out the trail, so as to allow safe passage through the washout. Swamping the huge mess at the top of a massive tree that is blocking trail half mile in.

Alpine Baldy. Clearing the FS 6066 leading up to the Jennifer Dunn trail head that serves Alpine Baldy trail. Finished to within 1.7 miles of trailhead. Notified Forest Service who came in next day with 3 trucks to finish the road including culvert work.

Olallie. First, I removed a tree left halfway in the trail by previous hand sawyer. Then I fixed a clogged culvert that was streaming across the trail and fortified it with rocks and a log to slow down future clogging. Next, I removed two huge logs that had been cut earlier but left by side of the trail, to get them far off the trail. Finally, I tossed a few logs at another section that had been cut from a tree in a drain.
